The CAN Opener v1 is a tool for detecting, troubleshooting, and verifying the proper operation of the CAN BUS; a message-based bus that forms the communication backbone for modules in FRC robots. This first version of the CAN Opener (v1) was designed and constructed in the Extraordinary Lab at CVM Labs and was used successfully to assist other teams and resolve CAN BUS issues in the 2024 and 2025 competition season. This version of the tests for under-termination, over-termination, shorted, open, and a properly configured CAN BUS.
